Apple, Inc. sold Apple iBook between 1999 and 2006. The model was targeted at the consumer and education markets, and it had fewer features as well as lower prices than the PowerBook. iBook saw three models between 1999 and 2006. The first was Clamshell, adopting a total new look and feel as compared to its predecessors. The second was a comeback to a more traditional look. The third, named the iBook G4, was again a major shift away from both, the first and the second.
Ultimately in May 2006, the MacBook line of laptops replaced the iBook and immediately captured the market.
